The Concept
Topograffiti is the physical manifestation of my evolution as an artist. Created as my senior capstone project, this 4'x6' multi-layered wood installation explores the tension and harmony between the raw, organic velocity of street graffiti and the structured, geometric precision of digital design.
By deconstructing the letterforms and arrows of traditional graffiti, I reassembled them into a physical 3D landscape. The natural wood grains are intentionally left exposed to ground the vibrant, high-contrast neon street pigments, creating a dialogue between industrial labor and fine art.
The Process & Design
True to my practice, the piece was designed and mapped out digitally on my computer, then physically manufactured using heavy-duty power tools inside Guadalupe Studio. For the exhibition, I also designed the promotional media, utilizing a high-contrast, anaglyph-inspired flyer layout that mirrored the exhibition’s digital-meets-analog theme.
